Real moms share their best travel tips for families with little kids — packing hacks, flight survival, and mindset shifts for stress-free family travel.
Now that my youngest are 16 years old (twins), they know where to go but I still try to watch the experience from their eyes. There’s still the excitement of a trip. The reminders are more — do you have your phones, chargers and AirPods. Plus my girls still travel with a favorite stuffed animal.
So many great tips! Others I find helpful: extra change of clothes for each kid (we've dealt with motion sickness, food/water spills, etc.), pack more snacks than you think to account for delays and just because my kids seem to eat more on the plane! Similar to the slow down tip: one main activity per day and/or allow for down time throughout. Traveling with kids is not always easy, but so special.
So many great tips to keep kids entertained!
I love your sticky note tip! I'm going to use that next time we go somewhere.
Mothers know best! What a fantastic list of tips. (brb: going to look up where all my museum memberships have reciprocity.)
Right?! I don't know why I hadn't thought of that one before.
