I decided to say hello to a new neighbor in my building one day when taking out the garbage and now she’s one of my best friends and she has helped me out a ton of times since I met her! I’m incredibly grateful every day that we met!
I love this so much!! So many times we're afraid to initiate the conversation, but I think people are walking around hoping to make new friends (for the most part) and wishing someone would say hi. Good for you for just going for it!
Oh wow. I can imagine that there are even greater challenges in a new country, and the language barrier. Are your kids in school? Other parents might be a good first place to start. Good luck! I'm rooting for you!
Thanks! I'm hopeful that school will help! I did have a group, but their wives were all teachers and took new jobs this year. Which reassures me I can do it a again.

I really need to follow this advice, after moving to Bangkok, and having kids it's been tough to find friends.
